Poison Build Guide

Poison is one of the fastest-rising community routes in Dicero right now. It can feel weak when you first unlock it, then turn into one of the best bossing packages in the game once the right support pieces start stacking.

This route is for players who want sustained damage over time instead of immediate burst.

Recent community posts are converging on a similar conclusion: Poison is often stronger than it first appears, especially in longer boss fights and later stages with heavier defenses or shields.

The key reason is that some Poison scaling checks your full dice inventory, including off-board dice, which gives the route a much higher ceiling than players expect on first read.

Community Debate

There is still debate, but the tone has shifted in Poison’s favor.

Arguments FOR Poison

“Poison everytime. If you can stack the dice that sit in your bag you start doing silly damage.” — Community member

“Acorn Miasma + Does Not Enter Play has crazy synergy.” — Community member

Arguments AGAINST

“Ramp-up takes too long for short fights” — Community member

“Swordwave is a noob trap until they rebalance it.” — Community member

Key Upgrades

If running Poison, prioritize:

  1. For Each Dice You Have - One of the biggest reasons the route scales so hard.
  2. Does Not Enter Play - Lets Poison benefit from backpack and off-board dice.
  3. Acorn Miasma - Frequently cited as a core Poison synergy piece.
  4. Poison Pop / enemy-action triggers - Community reports point to huge value when they appear.

How to Pilot It

  • Start Poison only if the run is already offering support pieces.
  • Keep your wave-clear expectations realistic. Poison is strongest when the fight lasts long enough to matter.
  • If the stage has heavy shields or a long boss phase, Poison gets much more attractive.
  • If the stage is all tempo and short packs, use Poison as a support line instead of your only plan.

Works Best For

  • Long boss fights where damage over time has room to stack
  • Shield-heavy targets where sustained damage stays relevant
  • Runs that already offer poison-supporting upgrades

Watch Out For

  • Short encounters where ramp-up time is wasted
  • Stages that require fast burst instead of sustained damage
  • Taking poison too early without enough supporting upgrades

Community Verdict

  • Good for: Long boss fights, shield-heavy stages, and runs with Miasma-style support pieces
  • Avoid for: Short encounters or runs that never offer the right Poison upgrades
  • ⚠️ Warning: Poison looks mediocre without support, then jumps sharply once the right pieces connect

Next Step

If you are not sure whether to take Poison at all, read the Poison Guide first. Use this build page only after you decide the current run can support a slower, stacking route.

What to Prioritize

  • Prioritize For Each Dice You Have and Does Not Enter Play
  • Take Acorn Miasma or Poison Pop when the run offers them
  • Keep a backup clear plan for fast waves

Works Best For

  • High sustained damage
  • Strong into long fights and shield-heavy enemies
  • Scales from backpack and off-board dice synergies

Watch Out For

  • Slow to ramp up
  • Weak when support pieces do not appear
  • Can feel clumsy in short wave-based encounters
